Roncelli was hired by ProMedica for a 12,000 sf interior renovation for a Pediatric Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit and a 14,500 sf new construction Outpatient Behavior Health Pavilion.

The Pediatric Behavorial Health Inpatient Unit was an interior renovation that consists of 18 individual patient bedrooms with full bathrooms, plus four ICU beds. Anti-ligature components were incorporated throughout, including all electrical fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and furniture. A security metal ceiling system and fan coil covers were also installed. Different pick resistant and pick proof caulk was used based on the safety risk level of each room, along with special impact-resistant drywall. The building was originally constructed in 1955, which presented challenges with the existing walls and plumbing chases. The new ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital nearly doubled the capacity of their inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit, providing services and resources to roughly 1,300 children each year in the Northwest Ohio area.

The OBH center included a one-story building, sitework, and courtyard with outdoor recreation area. The new building includes staff offices, staff lounge break room, exam rooms, consultation rooms, group consult rooms, a sensory wall with interactive TVs, indoor recreation area, and treatment rooms with one-way mirrored glass separating the observation rooms. The courtyard includes a Dura-Crete enclosure wall, concrete patio, and a landscaped grass area for outdoor recreation activities. The new parking lot provides 59 parking spots with a bike rack near the entrance, landscaping, and modification to an existing retention pond, along with an outdoor employee break area.
