Work included an open commons area with an integrated restaurant. During the warmer months, 3 moveable glass walls of the restaurant will open out into the adjacent park, assimilating the two uses into one. The restaurant has a bar with a free-flowing design and an eating area that can hold up to 75 guests and a rooftop dining area for 50 guests with panoramic views of the park and nearby buildings.

A sustainable, green roof space was constructed to conserve and collect runoff water, repurposing it for the park’s trees, grass and plants. The restaurant’s architecture features a dramatic, upward cantilever roof that extends over the park’s walkways and provides a unique perspective to pay homage to Detroit’s downtown historic architecture.

The central lawn features recreational space for sports and relaxation and includes a roll-in stage to be used for various entertainment, along with areas for mobile food vendors and designated areas for bicycle parking.
