Roncelli completed a 31,000-square-foot surgical renovation at Corewell Health’s Grosse Pointe campus, modernizing the hospital’s operating suite and perioperative spaces. The project included construction of eight new operating rooms, one hybrid operating room, and ten post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) spaces, including an isolation room to support specialized patient care.

The renovation was completed in carefully coordinated phases to maintain ongoing hospital operations while replacing existing operating rooms, waiting areas, and prep and recovery rooms. In addition to the surgical suites, the project included renovation of key support spaces such as a conference room, satellite pharmacy, nutrition area, locker rooms, staff offices, consult rooms, registration areas, and patient waiting spaces.

Work also included upgrades to existing prep and recovery areas and extensive interior demolition to remove partitions, equipment, and finishes to support the new surgical layout. Through careful sequencing and coordination with hospital staff, Roncelli successfully delivered the renovation while maintaining functionality of the active healthcare environment.
