Roncelli completed the renovation of approximately 18,325 SF on the second floor of Wayne State University's historic Maccabees Building, transforming the space into modern administrative offices for university leadership, including the President, Provost, and other executive staff. The project included upgrades to power, data, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems while preserving the building's historic architectural character.

Working within a nearly 100-year-old landmark structure in the heart of Detroit, the team carefully protected and restored original mahogany wall panels, decorative ceilings, and other historic finishes while integrating contemporary workplace amenities and technology.

Renovations included executive offices, conference rooms, collaboration spaces, support areas, upgraded restrooms, and a new employee breakroom. Access control systems were also installed to enhance security for university leadership and staff.

Throughout construction, Roncelli successfully managed numerous design revisions and field-driven modifications while maintaining schedule commitments and coordinating work within an occupied urban campus environment. The completed project delivers a modern, functional workplace that respects the architectural significance of one of Detroit's most recognizable historic buildings.
