Roncelli Joins American Numismatic Society for Toledo Groundbreaking

October 12, 2026

Roncelli joined the American Numismatic Society (ANS), community leaders and project partners on October 5, 2026, to celebrate the groundbreaking of ANS's future headquarters and Money Museum in Toledo, Ohio.

Located at 1838 Parkwood Avenue, the project will transform the existing Professional Arts Building into a museum, research and educational facility as ANS prepares to relocate from New York City after nearly 170 years.

The ceremony included remarks from Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur. ANS Executive Director Dr. Ute Wartenberg Kagan, Toledo Museum of Art President, Director and CEO Adam Levine, SSOE Group COO Vince DiPofi and Roncelli COO Jereme Poxson were also among those gathered to recognize the milestone.

Founded in 1858, the American Numismatic Society maintains a collection of more than 800,000 objects from around the world, including coins, paper money, medals and currencies dating from ancient civilizations to the present day.

With much of its collection historically out of public view due to space and financial constraints in New York City, ANS's move to Toledo will create new opportunities for public exhibitions, research and education.

The new facility will feature museum galleries, a research library and educational spaces. A partnership with the nearby Toledo Museum of Art will support joint exhibitions and programming, while planned collaborations with area universities will provide additional research and learning opportunities.

Transforming the Professional Arts Building

Serving as Construction Manager, Roncelli is overseeing the renovation of the existing Art Deco building to accommodate ANS's specialized museum and research needs.

The project includes selective demolition, structural modifications, interior renovations and significant upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and security systems. Additional improvements will modernize the facility while preserving its architectural character.

Throughout preconstruction planning, Roncelli has worked alongside ANS, PBDW Architects, SSOE and trade partners to coordinate construction requirements, scheduling, procurement and building systems.

With ANS planning its relocation for 2028, the project will establish a new cultural and educational destination in Toledo, making one of the world's most significant numismatic collections more accessible to the public.
